"Women Are Special 123 Reasons Why” is an inspirational book in celebration of women. Sometimes we women just don’t give ourselves enough credit, or take time to celebrate, all that we are, all that we contribute and all that we influence.
It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come….and the opportunities for the road ahead.  It’s a must read for any woman looking to be inspired and to take charge of her life, and the perfect gift for the women in your life.

Billboard Magazine award recipient, Laurie Dameron, has been playing the guitar for nearly five decades and singing even longer. Between solo performances and performances with her band, Laurie D and the Blues Babes, she has performed for hundreds of venues in and out of Colorado over the past 20 years.

Dameron has produced and arranged three CDs. The first, Utah Dream, is all original folk, pop and blues. The second, Looking Through the Blue, is all original jazz compositions. The latest project is 12 of Laurie’s favorite jazz standards and one original, the title cut, I Can't Wait to See You Again. She does 95% of all the guitar work plus much of the percussion.

What people are saying about the book:

“Some books are important. Some books you can’t put down. Out from the Shadow of Men is both. Laila El-Sissi has given us a ground-breaking memoir of two young sisters growing up in Egypt whose courage, devotion to each other, and struggle for their own autonomous lives will make you fall in love with them and remember their story forever.” –Ellen Bass, author of The Courage to Heal

BPW members Ashley and Lea-Ann are a daughter-mother producing team that made a feature documentary film called Pioneers in Skirts. A film dedicated to fast-tracking the cultural change we need in order to achieve gender parity in the workplace, Pioneers in Skirts is currently in post-production and will premiere in 2019!

The film is a character-driven social impact documentary addressing the stereotyping and sexism that can chip away at a woman, hurt her potential, and make her feel like she must re-think her dreams. The story features Ashley – an ambitious filmmaker who grew up in a world where girls are taught to be powerful. They’re told, "If you dream it, you can be it."
But, what happens when dreamers grow up?

Ashley and Lea-Ann joined forces to tell Ashley’s story; revealing the career obstacles she and many other women still have to deal with today, what realistically can be done about them, and how we all can play a role in dramatically changing the outcome for women today — and for the next generation.
