    a specialized mentorship program designed to pair American women with their displaced Afghan counterparts

    The Afghan Women Project (AWP) Mentoring Program supports Afghan women in achieving their own long-term professional goals. Receiving guidance, support, and training from successful and skilled NFBPWC Members, Afghan women work with our Mentors in a one-on-one supportive environment.

    This program is a wonderful opportunity for our Members to support other women who are making the brave step towards integrating themselves into a country and a culture they know little about.

    Become a Mentor

    The NFBPWC AWP team is currently seeking Mentors who can disambiguate the "American way of life," assist with cultural adaptation – both on the part of American's and of Afghan's, and help her Mentee change her life for the better. 

    The first step is to complete the online Mentor application. Once your complete the application, you will receive a link to the required orientation.

    You must be a NFBPWC Member to apply as a Mentor. Not a member? Join Us as we unite a nation of powerful voices that empower and ally with women everywhere.

    NFBPWC seeks Members to Mentor displaced Afghan women.

    • Community Mentor who can help with:
      -
      cultural adaptation, 
      housing,
      - understanding daily life in our culture,
      - learning how to become translators,
      - obtaining a better understanding online scams,
      - the rules of driving, and more.

    • Business Mentor who can help in understanding how to:
      - dress in the American 
      workplace,
      - work with men,
      - understand effective work practices and customs,
      - build an online presence,
      - speak business English,
      - start up a business in the United States, and more.

    • Campus Mentor who can help with:
      - obtaining and thriving in
       intern programs,
      - writing student papers and completing homework,
      - succeeding in ESL programs, and more.
