They were so fun! My kids often look forward to them. My daughter had some trepidation about writing out answers for some questions. I think I hoped she would write more answers than she did but she’s only in Form 2b and so I need to adjust my expectations. I was really proud my Form1B but I noticed that he forgot a lot of the elementary geography ideas ( how can we know the earth is round) which showed me I need to do more review/recall before we do a new lesson ( I think). He loves the Burgess Bird book but I noticed he mixed up a lot of the birds and had trouble associating names with descriptions and stories he had in his head. I’m not sure if there is a way to help improve them or if this ability will just grow and to wait for it. The recitation dinner we had was nice slow way to practice their skills skills gained in handicraft abs out them toward something to give back to others. Snd then exchange ‘recitation gifts’ with another homeschooling family. I definitely want to prep more for French language questions. I’m still struggling with how to test them despite examples. I often overshoot or undershoot their abilities and need to find more balanced questions or ways to approach this type of exam.
