I’m sorry to say it, but I won’t be at this year’s General Assembly in person. I will be on Zoom and no matter if it’s in person or online, the health committee will have things to share. They might come in the form of exercises, trivia, and other surprises. You just need to be a part of this great event to find out.
While I have the chance, I would like to thank our fearless leader President Barbara Bozeman for her support of one of many important committees in the NFBPWC organization. Her input and help have been invaluable during and outside of committee meetings. I am truly honored to call her my friend.
As for my committee members, thank you so much for your hard work and dedication. I know that you can’t always attend a meeting, but when you do, I always appreciate it. And those who want to be in the know via articles in the magazine, email, announcements, etc., I hope you have not been disappointed.
My main goal in becoming chair of this committee was to bring attention to an issue we often forget to put at the forefront of our lives: our health. I wanted to create a foundation so that whoever becomes the next chair can take the committee to the next level.
I also wanted to demonstrate that we should not be afraid or embarrassed about talking about any aspect of our health and by sharing our stories, we can inspire others to share theirs.
