NFBPWC Health Committee Meeting
Join us as we re-convene the Health Committee. We welcome all members who work in or have interest in various disciplines of health, including, but not limited to: behavioral health, clinical practice, public health, and more.
Health Committee Chair: Keri Hess
Keri Hess, MPH, is a Program Administrator at the Health Education Council (HEC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating health and well-being in under-served communities. She started working in tobacco control programs in 2013 at a county agency where she cultivated youth and adult coalitions to advocate for local policy initiatives, including the passing of the first local comprehensive flavor and menthol tobacco ban in the State of California. She also has experience working in child injury prevention and is a certified child passenger safety technician. In 2016, she implemented the first car seat recycling program in Northern California. Currently, she leads the LUCHA Tobacco program, which seeks to address health disparities related to tobacco among Latino communities in Northern California. She volunteers with the Safe Kids Greater Sacramento Coalition and is also a licensed amateur radio operator.
Keri received a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Sacramento State University and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of New England in Maine. She currently resides in Sacramento, CA.
