Making our voices heard: Getting Involved, Being Engaged

Join us for a panel discussion with four international BPW members who became involved with policy making in their communities and for their countries. These Women on the Move worked at different levels to ensure our voices would be heard. 

Moderated by Nermin Ahmad, WoM Chair, the format is a panel followed by an open discussion. It is an opportunity to understand what encouraged these sisters to move on their agendas, and to be involved at different levels - and in one case to be faced by a wall that could not be penetrated.

Josianne Cutajar (BPW Malta) 

      * Youngest Maltese Member of European Parliament ever elected

Natasha Labad (BPW Dominica)

       *Served as Senior Technical Officer in the Office of the Prime Minister of Dominica

Lelena Tewodros Yilma (Ethiopia)

         *Serves on the National Election Board for Ethiopia

Carolina Auz (BPW Montreal)

         * Was standing for election and was obliged to stand down due to party shift in

             priorities
